Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between a Personal Chef and a Private Chef?
A private chef is employed by one individual or family full time and often is living in the home and prepares 3 meals a day. A personal chef has several regular clients, usually one per day and provides weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly customized meals.

2. Do you cook in my kitchen?
Yes, in the safety of your own home on our agreed upon cooking date I bring fresh ingredients for your meals along with my own pots, pans and cooking utensils. At the end of the day I leave your kitchen clean and full of great aroma's.

3. How long will you be at my home?
I will be cooking several different entrees and side dishes from scratch so it will take between  5 to 6 hours

I will arrive with the fresh groceries, around 10:00 am. and are willing to work with your schedule or situation.

4. I'll be at home that day. Is it okay if I help or watch?
While I enjoy spending time with my clients, I try to limit it to a short time at the beginning and end of the cooking date to insure excellent quality of your meals.

5. Do I heat the food?
Yes. Any entree that is frozen should be defrosted overnight in the refrigerator then reheated to the desired temperature. I will leave detailed  heating instructions for each item.

6. How mush freezer space do you need?
It depends on the number of meals you have requested and the size of the containers, but it generally requires a good amount of space. At the time of our assessment we will take a look a the space available.

7. Can you use my containers?
Uniform size containers take less storage space in your freezer, and I can bring the appropriate containers for items I am preparing at each cook date.

At your assessment, we will discuss what types of food you prefer,then I will present you with a menu proposal for you to review and except changes.

8. What if I want additional sides, desserts, or baked goods?
I am always happy to provide additional services, and at your assessment we can discuss these items and there cost.

9. Do you do the grocery shopping?
Yes. I will do your grocery shopping on the morning of your cook date to insure  that they are extremely fresh.

10. What types of dishes do you prepare?
At your assessment, we will  discuss what types of food you prefer. Several days before the cook date i will present you with a menu proposal for you to review and i will except changes.

11. Do i pay ahead for each cook date?
Yes. A food deposit of $50.00 is payed at the time the assessment is done and the balance is due at the time of cook date.
